It's after three,
The clouds are closing in
The angels are rumbling overhead
The maple tree is dancing
And you, my dear, are almost home.

I had high aspirations for a day of shopping with Jess at the Brand New H&M, but they fell far short of reality (reality being something about huge store opening, ten million or so shoppers picking over the goods, nothing left but extra-small for my healthy chest, I don't know, something like that). However I did manage to find this sweet hat and will be trying to channel Micheal Jackson in all the glory of his Smooth Criminal days.

How much do I love that man? He puts the beat in my soul and I just gotta dance!

I would have so fallen for him back then. Let's all breathe a little sigh of sweet memory for MJ.

"Show 'em your funky,
Strong is your fight,
It doesn't matter who's wrong or right
Just Beat it."

"Work it, own it"

Ok, after I got called out with the photos (and then begged pretty-please-Melissa-can-we-see-your-glamorshots) I thought I would post a little picture of me from way back in history (or several years ago, depending on how you look at it).

And that got me thinking about walking a runway. And then I found these images from the Istanbul Fashion Lab. I don't know what the deal is but lately I have been simply OBSESSED with any and all dresses that portray "filmy, flowy, ground-sweeping, fluttery, fairie, and fabulous."

This one looks like it was designed just for you Mme.

And the back, I love!

Well my dear, I must away to prep for tonight's adventure: swinging a golf club and sipping scotch (and not just in that order). Clinksies!

And Melissa, I will be thinking of a some type of incentive for showing us your Glam,'cause we NEED to see them!

a shameless plug for my bday wish list

so officially, if people want to send me something for my bday, yesterday or today was the last day to get it in the mail.

because, in case you forgot
i am approaching 30 with my "heels digging in" as you say.

though i know, dearest dovely, that you already
have something fabulous for me,
and have sat on the surprise with so much patience.

but only 3 more sleeps and my life is
officially
adult! EEEEK.

Okay, so I am very scattered this Friday morning -
as are you, since you are no doubt scurrying about
cleaning and nesting
to enjoy the company of
your lovely emily and
I am off to camp for the weekend.

So here is what I am hoping and longing and wishing i had tons of money for:

I actually usually dislike cork/brown-heeled wedges, but I really love these. Though I really should be focusing more on flats and sandals (b/c I have decided to try hard to walk to/from work), but these just hit my fabulous radar.

Or these:

This is the perfume I decided on...you were there with me when I got the samples, but as I have been wearing it, I love it more and more. Incidentally, I realized (and I swear I didn't know beforehand) that my sister wears it, which makes me love it more.

As you know, I have been trying to grow out my dark hair and embrace the more natural color - and then bleach the hell out of it! :) Well, this product was recommended to me for the grow out stage - it's like getting your roots done every morning and it washes out every night. I have had the darnedest time finding it at stores, though.
I have not been able to get these out of my head - the description of them is so beautiful. Our plume is rather magical with words, non?
Some other random loves off etsy:

Also in the market for a sharp, high-waisted jean, such as these :

I read an article in the latest domino mag about a wardrobe makeover - and one of it's major premises was to splurge on expensive accessories - glasses, bags, shoes (well, OKAY!), but to keep the wardrobe basic - and to always keep your basics updated. So this means I need to get my little hiney down to american apparel or H&M (when it opens THIS FALL RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET FROM MY BUILDING) to update my t-shirts, tank-tops, and slacks.

Such as this american apparel scoop neck (though I wish it weren't a leotard)

I do hope your weekend is happy and refreshing. I will wish the same for mine.
~xxxx's and ooooo's.

Such a resourceful gal...

So while out celebrating Bastille Day between the rosé and the pink madonnas I saw a dress that needed to belong to me. You remember, blowy and ground skimming, shades of gray, I sneaked up behind the girl (a little closer than normal protocol would suggest) and caught a glimpse of a brand name. Well I found it. And I still want it (oh, that I could have a birthday every month!!!), the Gypsy 05 organic maxi dress.

And while we're on the subject of amazing floor length dresses, have you seen this one by Astridland? I want to wear it the theatre for something dark and magnificent, like Sweeney Tod (and if Johnny Dep *happened* to be starring that would be ok too)

And Miss Plume, I love your new little lark earrings! I am normally a big jewelery person (everything is better bigger, right?) but lately I've really been feeling the need for some dainty little sparkles to wear to the studio and while cooking up granola.

Well, I do hope that the tremors of yesterday have passed and you are able to take in the quiet of this morning. Smoochies my friend, I will see you soon!

"if i had to be a tree..."

you would be a redwood.

that would be a lovely site indeed.

Good morning my little lunar eclipse sleepyhead. I hope your night was more restful than mine (the dreams - save me!) but I know it was not more tasty. Yes, you really want to come over after work and let me serve up a sweetly sticky square of rhubarb-peach cobbler with vanilla bean ice cream melting all willy on top. Even Sing the kitty boy wanted in on that tasty action!

But on to bigger and better things, like RUFFLES. Now you know I'm not a frilly type gal, but these dresses did make my heart flutter. I think there is something here for our photo shoot, what with the big hair, big glass, wood sprite feeling. A big thanks to Oh Joy for finding these amazing Sonia Rykiel dresses that make me want to spend our rent money.

Also, in case you hadn't heard, the motion is up for Seattle to begin charging for all disposable bags. FABULOUS news in this little treehugger's mind, for our lovely planet and for the fact that it is now time to go shopping for shopping bags!

Of course I want a Peace bag!

And a bag full of little forest critters.

Such sweetness from belle and boo.

Ok, and while I could never ever throw my beets and tomatoes in this one, its big enough and I really want it!

Well Mme. I am so looking forward to four uninterrupted days of blissful fun in the shade of the glacier with you and our crew. Get off work soon!
