My kind of living room...

Apparently I need to find this Todd Yoggy, as everything I've seen seems to be exactly how I would want a room.  Victorian and traditional with hints of irreverence and modernity.  Wait, did I just describe me?

My favorite dog on Desire To Inspire!

I am so excited!  My photography and my favorite dog made it to one of my favorite design blogs, Desire To Inspire.  I love this blog because it's really consitently showing the design world new things, not just the popular pictures that most design blogs just seem to swap back and forth.  If you subscribe to only one design blog this year, I seriously suggest Desire To Inspire.

Yay for Clarence!!

My brother, his owner..."Great, now he's going to want us to find him an agent:)"  Hah!

A Modern Dose of Lighting...

I've been FOREVER on the look out for bedside lamps, and recently came across Modern Dose, a fabulous (albeit expensive) resource for chic, eclectic, and modern home decor.

How about a Macaw lamp?
I would love this little guy on my writing desk, offering a bit of irreverance to my traditional scheme.

(Why am I thinking of Desi Arnaz?)

And of course....

Off to peruse more...

Words to live by

You have hopefully heard of LONNY, the online magazine comprised of the team of former design-bible, Domino Magazine.  In my evening perusing, complete with cup of tea, I came across a page of Lonny with the best advise for the newly relocated (that's you and me, btw!):

"Avoid the urge to accesorize a place all at once, which can lead to a look that feels confided and impersonal.  Instead, add meaningful items over time."

WallPaper

I've been given permission to redo the HORRIBLE 70s wallpaper in my new place. I've noticed some really great papers out there lately, but literally gasped out loud when I found this one!

And how many more times must Anthropologie grab our hearts and stomp on them? Oh what a wonderful pain...

Another New Obsession: Antique Birdcages

In light of my upcoming move, I've been inspired to rethink my design aesthetic. Through the last two years of taking in many different styles, I've settled on the one that most closely looks like my soul...victorian chic. Think high-backed fainting couches mixed with modern whites and saturated purples. I feel light-headed just dreaming about it.

To accent this, I've been on the recent prowl for Antique Birdcages, scouring craigslist, value village, design blogs, and etsy. I would fill it with plants or books or booze and paint it some wacky color. Flickr has provided much in the way of visual fodder to fuel this obsession...

Anyone got a birdcage hanging around?

Things that make me smile Wednesday

Bon Matin, friend. You are off gallivanting in Oregon, painting under trees and living your calling as a dryad. I am here with your kitty boys and we are smiling at these things:

This print made me smile, but mainly because of the quote on the bottom! "One should either be a work of art, or wear a work of art." Oscar Wilde
A mantra to live by indeed!

Lolita is a new blog I found a few weeks ago,and of course I would love it because of the name. However, I love it more because everyday she inspires me with some sort of amazing photograph. This bubble bath photo makes me smile.

These perfectly vintage Victorian pumps make me smile.

It seems that every week I am posting about something I found at DesiretoInspire and today is no exception. It's really just such wonderful eye-candy, that blog.

This couch makes me smile. It encompasses my style so well...I want it.

Loves on this cloudy, perfect Wednesday.

Things that make me smile Wednesday

Good afternoon friendly neighbor. Can you believe this sweltering 85 degree heat? If Seattle is benevolent enough to give us a proper June, that is cause to smile indeed.

Happy Wednesday!

This print makes me smile with pensive revere and appreciation

This happy and sophisticated clement dress makes me smile. The summer version of melancholy chic, perhaps? (I love the whole line actually).

These four runway rooms featured on Coco+Kelly(a fabulous seattle design blog) make me grin. Can you guess my favorites?

Winter...

Spring...

Summer...

Fall...

Toodles,
