Frolicking Frocks

For those of you who do not know, this is exactly** the way the new-found country life looks for the Mme. and I. Forest frolicking in fabulous frocks, fraternizing with feathered friends, it's all just another day in the life.

** And by exactly I actually mean slightly, with a little more grit and a little less skin - it's cold out here! But so help us God, we are bringing style to the woods!

Fabulous fashion and imagery from Dear Creatures, found here.

Fall 2009 Couture: D&G

There is something so perfect happening this fall in couture.  All my favorite designers are stomping those runways with period pieces, and those happen to be periods of history I absolutely love...Victorian, 1940s, it's all a bit too much to take in.  D&G is no exception to this.  I saw the center dress and absolutely tasted the envy.

I'll take one of those dresses.

I'll take one of those boys (and his jacket).

I'll take both rooms.

While I'm at it, I'll take these four little suits for the vixen-librarian lurking inside.

Urban Outfitters September Sale 2009

My picks:

Wallpaper
A wonderful idea for the replacement of my HIDEOUS wall paper in the kitchen.

Tree Pillowcases
Like sleeping in the orchards.

Cable-Knit Throw
That color...sigh.

Kimchee Blue Pieced Herringbone Dress
Herringbone is like god to me.

Colorblock dress
Despite it's disqualification because of my brain-washed hatred of strapless,
I love the structure and color.

Soft Open Blazer
I've been on the market for a blazer for some time now...it's perfect!

Tweed Mini
If I have to wear a mini, this would surely be the one...paired with very opaque tights.

And of COURSE,
Fringe Thigh High
Because everyone needs to channel their inner Pocahontas...

YOUR PICKS?

Hurry, sale ends in two days!

Emmy Gossip.

Just a few insignificant thoughts from a totally irrelevant bystander:

Poor Jenna, she obviously snagged her dress on the limo or something. Tacky.

Totally loving this number on Carrie Preston. Perfect contrast...and it's totally hard to pull of orange and black without looking like a pumpkin during Halloween.

This is so bad, I have no words.

Kathy Griffen - you are one hyper lady. Hilarious.

I love Ginnifer Goodwin and her perfect pixie hair. Well done.

January Jones, seriously lovely.

And last, Blake Lively did it right, but only from the back.

Lordy me, one false move and you could possibly catch a peek of her "see you next tuesday."

And that's it from me, your thoughts?

Fashion Friday: The Marylin Monroe Dress

Though I hardly have the bosomly-endowments to fill this dress
to its proper hour-glass proportions, I have still decided that I must have it.

And by MUST, I mean in an imaginary world where I can afford anything that grabs my fancy. Including bosoms.

Fashion Friday: Etsy Seller - Thrush

I am forever checking out vintage wares on Etsy, and this last week I came across a lovely vintage seller, Thrush, and spent quite a bit of time pursuing the goods. Not only does she have fabulous finds, but she takes the time to name each item after some cinematic or historical icon. So delightful! Here are some of my favorites:

The Twiggy Dress

The Alexis Smith Dress

The Nancy Sinatra Dress

The Vivian Leigh Dress

The Anne Margaret Dress

Happy Friday! May fabulous, unique, recycled, and affordable fashion find its way into your worthy hands...

Tootles,

Mme. Bookling
