look!!

this is too good to be true. i accidentally channeled MissBrigette's etsy shop and she found it for me!librarian bookend print

OH WORLD.
can it be true?
can my dream come alive?

(i am aching for my bookstore like:
a certain redwood longs for rain
a certain raven longs for her evermore
a certain gazelle longs for her west bank).

let's unite.
gather hands in solidarity and
BUY ME THIS. :)
and breath into my dream.

ode to my (will it ever happen?) yellow kitchen.

it's 10:40 pm.
i should be in bed.
so what if i am up perusing etsy because i full well know christmas is just around the corner.

so what.

here are my dreams in yellow...
i adore this tea set!!
what a beautiful meal it will be when i bake in this crock ware!
or this happy yellow pot for stew and happy meals?

one lump or two?
so what if i don't take either?
i know a beautiful lady who takes a splash of cream and wouldn't she LOVE to dish it out of this? she would, because she's a dish!

the theme for my kitchen is happy bumble bees...so think yellow with black/white accents...and MAYBE a cobalt piece here and there. but wouldn't these cups just be so divine?
(i think i am officially committed to riding myself of all mass produced cups this year and investing in hand-thrown or vintage... and in that same thought...
what about these works of art - the chickadee tea set? they would go SOO well!
too bad they're sold. know where i could get some more?!!!

i cannot ever get this because i know she is your obsession, but isn't this vase gorgeous?

so these items will be on a shelf, displayed in all their yellow glory to show my kitchen just exactly who is boss...

wait.
who's boss again?

journals and acorns

it's another day in neon paradise here on floor 17.
i have had two cups of tea - one decaffeinated, one not.
i am working on a mocha (which was an accidental purchase from a coworker and she gave it to me) that i cannot stop drinking.
i have ripped a hole in my stocking.
it's a damn good thing it's my thursday-that-is-friday.

however, in my well-paid time, i have stumbled upon some lovelies i want to show you! you're gonna love this post.
i was wandering around some bookish blogs and found the author keri smith and her blog, wish jar. as i perused her blog, i found one of her books wreck this journal upon further investigation, and a long perusal through some flickr groups, i deduced that this is a journal with instructions in creativity on each page. here are some of my favorite entries.

bring this book in the shower with you

how to wreck a journal

so the general idea is to reteach the brain about creativity. i doubt my ability to do those assignments seriously, and because of this - i think it would be a great exercise for me. a lot of schools have got on board with this idea and are purchasing the books in droves to distribute as curriculum. fabulous business idea, no?!!

TOTAL SUBJECT SHIFT.
but another thing i found that i know you would love because you love:
1. miniature things
2. felted things
3. nature things
4. random things...
are these CUTE felted mini-acorns that i found on knack - the blog i posted about yesterday! she found lilfish studios' etsy shop who makes these sweeties.
don't you need them?

strangely enough, our friend she also posted about a random acorn find this morning. we can't decide how we feel about it.

we give you the Williams-Sonoma Acorn Pan Cakelet (as featured on apartment therapy).

what do you think? i think i am mortified but cannot figure out why. perhaps if you put cream-cheese frosting on the "cakelets," i will get over that mortification.

real quick.

happy vacation to you, doves in umber.

Wednesday's Webular Wanderings

i have been ALL OVER the interwebs today.
This is in an effort to stay awake at my desk.
I am completely using you to stave off my boredom.
But that's totally not the point.
Totally.

ANYWAY.
I have been everywhere, and found many things to share with your lovely eyeballs.

Wednesday's Webular Wanderings
I would love to make a trek to Madison Park to visit this store.
(Dude. We could totally walk there...depending on which shoes we were wearing. of course.)I thought of you with their vintage textiles (you are addicted. admit. now).
i though of me sitting at this desk and imagined all the writing my future life will entail. "right?!!," kelly says boldly. "right," candace says meekly.

the vintage bucket lamps! gorgeous display.

yes, i think we must make a trek soon.

in other wednesday's wanderings...
i stumbled upon two new design blogs i found rather intriguing. the first one was introduced to me via victoria's blog at sf girl by the bay (which you introduced me to way back when!..okay, so it was like 6 months ago..still.) mrs. french is a guest blogger for victoria and has her own blog called bliss.
bliss is a delightful little blog and i had success in wasting many hours perusing the happy finds of her visual eye. specifically, in today's blog, she did a home tour of a portland shop owner and it inspired me with my annoying shelves in the entryway. (you know the ones!) i loved the interview because at one point, Stephanie Sheldon said, " And I think people have to remember to take their time when creating their home. Again, it's about being deliberate and thoughtful about your choices. It's when you have it finished today that your house ends up looking like a Pottery Barn catalogue. It's hard to wait for the perfect piece to come along but it's totally worth it." This really stuck with me.

i love the shelf on the left. it looks eclectic but still thematic...i am missing this in my decorating.
isn't it just perfectly arranged and interesting?
i liked her blog a lot...she features a "i heart monday" entry every monday where she highlights her internet wanderings.

the second blog i found was knack.
i was specifically drawn to this entry of a dynamic and interesting color combo.

it looks like a lot of more good things to come from her.

i found the cutest little inspiration on my many pilferings of favorites on etsy today. i think this is would be perfect in my yellow, white, and black kitchen. that's right...i said black. i wanted to originally do blue, but i think it's more me to do the black and white with a surprising splash of yellow. that's not a bad description of me, in fact!

anyway.

this piece is just weird and kitchy enough to go right above my sink! it's such a funny reminder!

wear your crown plaque

and while i was on etsy...well, it always just gets worse from there.

i adore this custom table from micaelarras. it would be so perfect in my living space.

i am romanced by this autumn leaf cascade necklace by kathiroussel

and with that, it's almost time for me to get home.
come home safe to me.

pinkerton

it's all about pink right now
not because it's the new black, but hello!
BREAST CANCER AWARENESS.
and also, because our lovely kjk loves some pink....

so in honor of all of the above, here are the pink things i found today on the world wide webulars.
  • Pink Posts by SF Girl by the bay. I loved this cabinet by quainthandmade and thought of you and your textile heaven/hell. Though I doubt it would stay pink for long. :)

  • here's to US in pink. pretty sexy, non? whatcha think?

  • because who doesn't need pink hand grenade soap?

  • or what about this amazing pink outfit?

  • that outfit would go GREAT with these funtasma boots!

  • On a more SERIOUS note, I love this bubble skirt from wearit: it's so funky, fresh, and feminine..and isn't that what PINK is all about?

  • i see one person wearing this dress. this color would look so great on her - on SHE!

  • i love this lumberjack tee! do you know any ladies who can swing an axe AND walk a ballgown? cuz i don't. snicker snicker.

  • the sunset and chocolate (what a name for what a combo!) bowl by KarinLorenc

  • or this pretty pink creamer by misspottery

well there you have it, kntc.
i guess i have to accept pink for it's beauty now.

i prompt you for a confession: do own anything pink?
